FACTS ON G.FS
Guardians are very important in the game as they can done devastating
damage to your foes. They are the returning summons of FF7 and FFT.
Summoning a G.F. will result a blue bar covering the character's time
bar. The stats of the G.F. will be overlapping the character's stats.
Guardian can be heal why staying in hotels/tent/Dormitory. They can
only be healed by purchasing healing items such as G-Returner from Pet
shops around the world. Guardians not only allows you to have an edge
in combat, they also help in boosting up your character's ability.
Learning this skills requires AP which can be won from battles against
BOSS/monsters. EXP will causes the G.F. to level up. The higher the
level, the more damage the Guardian will do against an enemy foe. G.Fs
are very important as they allows you to equip commands.
ADVANCING G.F. ABILITIES
This has been tested by me. If your Guardian has mastered the previous
ability such as Summon Magic +10%, it will gain the second version,
Summon Magic+20%. Also if that particular G.F has levelled up, It will
also gain new abilities. G.Fs can also gain new abilities by using
G.Fs items such as the Writings of HP Junction.
NOTE: All G.Fs can only substain the maximum of 2 pages of G.Fs
abilities. You can only use the Item if the present G.F does not
have it. For example,
You can't used the Writings of HPJ on the Ifrit as it has
already has it. However you can used it on G.Fs like
Queztalcoatl [however you need a Forgotten Grass to do this.]
Every G.Fs can only owned up to the maximum of 22 Abilities.
TIPS IN MANAGING YOUR G.FS
1. Always get ALL G.Fs into battles [not necessary to summon them, but
make sure that they are along with your characters to gain EXP].
They gain HP Bonuses and they will inflicit more damage when they
are at higher levels.
2. Always go after rare skills such as Diablo's Bundoru [as this
skill is pretty handy if you need to get the rare items such as
Iron Pipes.]
3. Distribute the G.Fs evenly to all characters. Make sure everyone
has spells junction to basic factors:
< > Strength [effects your attacking power]
< > Magic Strength [effects your attacking power when you uses magic]
< > HP [This is basically your character's stats as once it hits
zero, it is game over.]
< > Body Strength [the higher the stats, the better your character
will stand the damage.]
4. For those G.Fs with "Aid", always get them beforehand of all other
G.Fs abilities.
5. Always check what abilities that you are learning before get into
battles. Always pick those high AP skills that require to master
before fighting against BOSSES, making full use of it.
6. Use G.F Potions to recover lost HP of your G.Fs.
7. Summon G.Fs regulary with one specific character. Summoning a G.F
many times by a character will improves the G.F's affection with the
character. "Aid" will work best in this case. G.F affection affects
the speed of the ATB bar of G.F [the higher the affection, the faster
the G.F will be summoned!]
8. For better results of improving G.F relationship, use Love Love G.F
and G.F affection items.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: I have used the Queztalcoatl as the example.
Okay, let's start the explaination. After you have chosen [G.F]
sub-menu, you will see the screen when there are the pictures of your
G.Fs. Now select the picture and you will see a screen similar to
these. Now you will be able to choose the G.F. ability that you want
to master first. Note that if the G.F has mastered Summon Magic +10%,
the G.F will now be mastering Summon Magic +20%. Certain abilities
like Change Card into Item [Menu Ability], will be avalible after you
have mastered Card Command. Computer always picks up the G.Fs Summon
Magic +10%. It will be better if you choose to master "Aid" ability
first. So making your choices may work much better, compared to the
computer choosing what skill to pick.
NOTE: All G.Fs have two slots for character/party abilities except for
G.Fs with Ability x3 or Ability x4. How to equip commands? refer
to "Controls" section in Part I or Yee Seng Fu's Basic FAQs.
[*] I myself personally believed that you can get Queztalcoatl or Shiva
even after Disc 1. Markweb Jimenez told me that it is possible to
get these G.Fs [Queztalcoatl and Shiva] even after Disc 1! (without
gameshark!)

Name of G.F : Sabotendar
Summon Attack : 1,000 Iron Needles, Non-elemental against all foes.
May causes Status damage.
Getting It : Head for the Cactuar Island, it's located on the south
east area of Sentura Area. [there is a green Cactaur
there (actually it's the Sabotendar)] Make contact
with it and it's very tough. [Refer to Part I on
information on how to defeat it]. Note that it is a
huge and massive Cactuar and its about 4 times bigger
than the Cactuar.
How it works : The G.F Sabotander works like this. Let's says the
Sabotander's Level is between x0 to x9 then the damage
that the Sabotander inflicit will be x000. Let's says
if the Sabotander's Level is 73, the damage inflicit
will be 7000 exactly. Quite a good G.F. Thanks to

** SUMMONABLE MONSTERS **
This are not actually G.Fs, they don't have any of the G.F's abilities
like Command, Junction, G.F, Character, Menu and Party. I'm listed them
down here as they have "summoning" animation same as G.Fs [green
bubbles appears from the character's body.]
Name: Phoenix

Life-elemental to all allies.

the man, head to the house where you find the Mumba.
Now enter and you will meet the Village's Head, talk to
him and left. Head back to the statue where you find the
statue of Laguna. Now talk to him and pick second option
Next you will be asked to find the stones in the village.
After you found one, return back to the man near the
statue of Laguna, giving it to him.
Disc: 2 ~ 3
------------------------------------------------------------------------
0----------- Blue Stone: The room where you find the statue of Laguna
Search the wall where you find the huge blue
rock.

[1st screen after you have exit from the
elevator]. Search the rock between the two
buildings
0----------- Life Stone: Before you ended up with the Village Head's
house, you will find a huge tree. Search the
middle of the trunk.
0----------- Shadow Stone: Head back to the first area where you find
the elevator. Right of the screen, there is
a container which cast a shadow. Search the
shadow.
0----------- Water Stone: Head to Tsukurit's House [it is just next to
the building where you find Laguna's statue.
Walk up to the sink and search the extreme

------------------------------------------------------------------------
After finding all, head back to the man near the statue. Afterwards
head to the Village Head's house and you will get the Phoenix Wing from
the assistant. Use in combat and you will summon the Phoenix!
Alternate methods: Refer to Make Tools ability for more details.
NOTES: There is a probability of the Phoenix being summoned when all
characters are dead [make sure someone has equipped the item
command.
CREDITS: 1) Steven Bruck for the list where to find the stones
2) Jerry Ng for the correct way to find the stones and the
fake water stone!
Name: Odin
Summon Attack: Iron Cutting Sword
Elemental: Non-elemental attack, instant dead attack. Pretty weak
against BOSSES.
Getting It: Refer to The Galbadian World Tour of Part I
Disc: 2 ~ 4
NOTES: The appearance of the Odin appears randomly in battles
and appears at the beginning of battles. The Odin's Iron
Cutting Sword is an instant death attack against all
opponents. It is pretty useless against BOSSES.
Name: Gilagmesh
Summon Attack: Iron Cutting Sword/Excalibur/Excalipur/Masamune
Elemental: Non-elemental attack against all foes
Getting It: You will get this if you have gotten Odin before the
battle against the Seifer at Lunatic Pandora
Disc: 3
NOTES: The Gilagmesh can even appears in between battles. The
Gilmagesh have four cool attacks [all the swords except
for the Iron Cutting Sword (Zantetsuken) are based on
Final Fantasy V. Thanks to Heero Yuy for the valuable
information. It can also appears in BOSSES Fight.
Name: Ko-Chocobo

the item command [during battles only!] Make sure that
you have aleast summoned once the Chocobo from the
Chocobo Forest.
Disc: 2 ~ 4

not owned a Pocketstation]. The way to get the Ko-Mogri can be found
from part I.
* Givera [This is not your G.F but the Final BOSS's personal G.F, very
powerful]. Actually this is Squall's necklace. [remember the time
where Squall handles an item to Zell afterwards where you see Zell
giving it to Rinoa].

2.1 Command Abilities (!)
========================================================================
Command Abilities are basically the abilities that appears in your
command menu during the game. Each can have the maximum of 4 commands.
Certain commands also you to do different things. However the ATTACK
command is a must. All G.Fs except for Phoenix, Chocobo and Odin will
have mastered the Magic, Guardian Forces, Item and Draw Command. Here
is the list.
2.1.1. Magic Command
______________________________________________________________________

G.Fs : All except for Odin, Phoenix, Chocobo
Functions : Allows the equipped character to cast magic during
battles. When your character has the status
disorder of Silent, your character will be unable
use the command.
AP needed : n/a
_____________________________________________________________________
Comments: One of the best commands in the game. Serves great importance
as the command provides not only offense, but also helps in
restoring lost HP. You can cast two/three magics in a row
only when a Double/Triple spell is being cast on you. But
first you have to stock up some magic [by drawing from
enemies or Magic Stones]
------------------------------------------------------------------------
USING THE MAGIC COMMAND
__________
|Attack | After you have select the [MAGIC] from the COMMAND Menu
|Magic < || you will be able to see the number of spells and types
|G.F | of spells stocked up in the character's Magic Inventory.
|Draw | __________________
|__________| -- > |Magic P1 NUM| TIP: Always arrange the spells
|Fire 100| such as Cure, Heal and
| |Fire 2 45 | Life on the first few
| |Ice 100| pages. [Each character has
| |Ice3 4 | a total number of 8 pages]

- - > |Double | you select the Magic Command, you will see a box

|________| can select the option and you be brought to the
Magic Inventory [when you can select the spells]
OR Select Double, allows you to cast two spells of

| | allows you to cast three spells of the same kind
| Double | in turn. You can switch targets unlike Selphie's
| Triple | Special Moves. To cast more spells using a single
| | you must acquired Triple Consumption or Double
|________| Consumption.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
2.1.2. Guardian Forces Command
______________________________________________________________________

G.Fs : All except for Odin, Phoenix, Chocobo
Functions : Allows the equipped character to summon a G.F
during battles. Summoning a G.F requires time and
the stats of the G.F will overlap the stats of
your character. Unable to use it with the Silent
disorder
AP needed : n/a
_____________________________________________________________________
Comments: Summoning a monsters now requires time, compared to the
previous FF series except for FFT. As you summon a G.F, the
stats will overlap over the character's HP. There, you will
see blue ATB Bar [which will stops immediately when the G.F
is killed or a Silent Spell is being cast on the character]
------------------------------------------------------------------------
SUMMONING A G.F.
__________ ______________________
|Attack | |G.F. P1 | Just simply select the
|Magic | |Quetzalcoatl HP: 457 | command [G.F.] and choose
|G.F < || -- > |Shiva HP: 359 | the G.F that you wish to
|Item | |Ifrit HP: 409 | summon. There you will see
|__________| |______________________| a blue ATB bar start to
overlap the character's
stats.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
2.1.3. Draw Command
______________________________________________________________________

G.Fs : All except for Odin, Phoenix, Chocobo
Functions : Allows the equipped character to draw magic from a
foe during a battle. The character could draw up
to nine kind of that spell and could use it
immediately [2nd option] or store for later use [
1st option]. It also could draw hidden G.Fs such
as the Siren. Unable to use the command when the
character has the Silent status disorder.
AP needed : n/a
_____________________________________________________________________
Comments: One important command in FF8. It allows you to draw in spells
and you can choose to stock them or cast them immediately.
You can draw up to 100 kind of that particular spell. The
rate of drawing magic depends solemnly on your Magic Strength
stats [Edea has strong Magic Strength stats that's why she
could draw up to 9 kind of that spell, each time she uses the
Draw Command.]
------------------------------------------------------------------------
USING THE DRAW COMMAND
_________
|Attack | _________
|Magic | --- > |Fire | _________ TIP: Sometimes, you see
|G.F. | |Bolt < || -- > | Stack | that "Stack" has
|Draw < || |Ice | | Release | been greyed out,
|_________| |Heal | |_________| this means that
|_________| the character has
already 100 kind
of that spell.
Here is a brief explaination on how the [Draw] system works. First of
all you have to select the [DRAW] command and select the monster that
you wished to draw from [you can't draw spells from a death monster,
which results a miss. Certain characters such as Quistis have weak
ability in drawing magic at a weak rate too.]. There you will see the
list of spells that you can draw from. Select the spell and you will
see the third box. Stack allows you to stock up magic in your
inventory [you can only do this if you have less 100 of that kind of
spell and sufficient space in the character's inventory]. Release
allows you to draw the spell and cast the spell immediately [howver
only one quantity at one time.] Note that monsters such as
Rubulmdragon, what you have drawn from it, is pretty useless against
it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
2.1.4. Item Command
______________________________________________________________________

G.Fs : All except for Odin, Phoenix, Chocobo
Functions : Allows the equipped character to use items for
healing and restore lost Life. Also allows you to
summon the Phoenix, Mumba and the Ko-Chocobo.
Important and useful early in game or if the
character has been silenced during battles.
AP needed : n/a
_____________________________________________________________________
Comments: Another important factor in FF series. This command allows
you to use items which can help to restore status ailments.
This command allows you to use MEDICINE and BATTLE ITEMS.
This command is still usable even if the character is being
silenced. You can have up to the maximum no. of 10 pages.
2.1.5. Card Command
______________________________________________________________________

G.Fs : Quaztlecoatl
Functions : Allows you to get a Card from a monster. This
command happens to miss very often and it will
take quite a long time. Note that not all enemies
can be carded by the command [example: Fuujin ]
You can only do this when the HP of the monster is
running low.
AP needed : 40 AP
_____________________________________________________________________
Comments: One good command if you are running out of that particular
cards. For easy usage on carding monsters, cast Demi to
reduces the HP of the monster and then used the card command.
However, it practically takes ages for you to card a strong
foe such as the Rubulmdragon. This command is still usable
even if the character is silenced.
2.1.6. Death Sentence Command
______________________________________________________________________

G.Fs : Shiva
Functions : Allows you to cause the Instant Death status. You
see a counter on the top of the enemies. Once the
counter reachers zero, the monster will be killed
instantly, very ineffective against BOSSES.
Description : You will see a Devil appearing and spins its staff
and you will see a countdown of 24 seconds. When
the counter reaches zero, the spirit of the
monster leaves its body. Note that the counter
stops with the monster uses its moves.
AP needed : 60 AP
_____________________________________________________________________
Comments: One great command against high HP foes such as the T-Rex.
Just simply use the command on the monster and you will see
a counter appears at the top of the monster. When the
counter hits zero, the monster will be instantly killed. To
make the best out of it, cast Blind so that monster can't
attack. All you do is to wait. This command is still usable
even if the character is being silenced.
2.1.7. Rush Command
______________________________________________________________________

G.Fs : Ifrit, Eden
Functions : Causes the character to have the Berserk, Haste
Shield and Barrier status on ALL characters.
Unable to control your characters.
AP needed : 60 AP
_____________________________________________________________________
Comments: Use this when the monster is low on HP. Your party will
just keep on attack until his/her HP drop to zero. This move
effects all characters. So it is inadvisble to use this on
high HP bosses such as the Rubulmdragons.
2.1.8. Chiryou Command
______________________________________________________________________

G.Fs : Siren
Functions : This command is pretty useful as it will remove
all status aliments from that character. I doubted
only the negative ones, such as Silent
AP needed : 100 AP
_____________________________________________________________________
Comments: Works like the Cure spell / Remedy. This command is great as
it is STILL usable even the character is being silenced. It
will remove any forms of status ailments [negative ones only]
However the character can't use this command if he/she is
under the following status ailments: Berserk, Sleepel, Stop,
Petrify and Confu.
2.1.9. Defend Command
______________________________________________________________________

G.Fs : Brothers, Sabotendar
Functions : Allows the equipped character to defend attacks
thus reducing damage from offensive monsters such
as the T-Rex
AP needed : 100 AP
_____________________________________________________________________
Comments: Works well against monsters that solemnly depends on physical
damage [one good example is the T-Rex]. This command is quite
good as it works like the Barrier [however only for that
particular turn only]. It is much better if the character
could escape than withstand attacks from his/her opponents.
The command could effect until the end of the battle, unless
you changes the command of that particular character.
2.1.10. Ankoku Command
______________________________________________________________________

G.Fs : Diablo, Grasharboras, Eden
Functions : This command is rather risky some HP and thus doing
more damage using physical attacks. Use this when
the enemy's HP is running low. It's rather risky.
AP needed : 100 AP
_____________________________________________________________________
Comments: A risky one. This command sacrifices some HP resulting the
character inflicit more damage. Quite good when being used
properly. Use this command on dying monsters. It is still
usable even if the character is being silenced. I myself
quite like this command. For character's whose attacking
power about 230+, the character could do 9999 HP damage with
this command and loses about 1/20 of his/her HP!
2.1.11. Full Recovery Command
______________________________________________________________________

G.Fs : Leviathan
Functions : Restores all your HP during the battle. Very
useful when fighting against BOSS. It's rather
costly as it need high AP
AP needed : 200 AP.
_____________________________________________________________________
Comments: One of the best G.F command abilities. This results restoring
HP fully to one character. A great command for undead. Does
9999 HP to undead creatures if the HP exceeded 9999. Instant
killer weapon against Zombie. Do NOT use this when Zombie is
being cast on the character. Serves well for offense and
restoring HP.
2.1.12. Absorb Command
______________________________________________________________________

G.Fs : Pandamonium, Grasharaboras
Functions : Drain off some HP from one foe. This ability isn't
that good against low HP monsters. But it drains a
massive amount of HP from high HP monsters such as
the T-Rex. Need more research.
AP needed : 100 AP
_____________________________________________________________________
Comments: Your characters will just drain some HP from the monster,
about 300+ to weak monsters and over 1000 against high HP
monsters. Quite a good command if you are lack of Potions
and healing magic. Usable even if the character is under the
Silent status.
2.1.13. Sosei Command
______________________________________________________________________

G.Fs : Alexandar
Functions : One of the best abilities, revives a dead party
member and restore a portion of the character's HP.
This has same purpose of a Phoenix Down.
AP needed : 200 AP
_____________________________________________________________________
Comments: This is much preferred over [ITEM] command in thus of
restoring life. As you just need to select the command and
choose the character to revive and saves trouble to search
through the item pages for the Phoenix Down.
2.1.14. Self-Explosion
______________________________________________________________________

G.Fs : Sabotendar
Functions : At last, I have used this...but resulting a death
of a party member. The character whom use the
command, will just rushes forward and followed by
an explosion! Doing 30,000+ HP damage! The
character will disappear and you can't use the
character anymore for that particular battle. If
you check the menu, you see that the character's
HP has dropped to zero!
AP needed : 100 AP
_____________________________________________________________________
Comments: A very risky move! It is extremely dangerous if you have
sacrifice your best character and have run out of stock for
your Life spells and Phoenix Down. But there is one good
point, it can lead to a deathly attack against strong HP
monsters such as the T-Rex.
2.1.15 Level Down
______________________________________________________________________

G.Fs : Tonberi
Functions : Level down your opponent's level, thus reducing
their attributes. You will also gain less EXP. If
you have succeeded, you see a status bar at the top
of the screen.
AP needed : n/a
_____________________________________________________________________
Comments: An ideal command if you want easy battles. Using the command
on a monster, not only results a decrease in the attributes
such as HP, strength and intelligience, also weakens the
monster. Good against Rubulmdragons [as they have the
highest HP at Level 100]
2.1.16 Level Up
______________________________________________________________________

G.Fs : Tonberi
Functions : Level up your opponent's level, increasing the stats
causing you to gain more EXP. If you have succeeded,
you see the status bar at the top of screen.
AP needed : n/a
_____________________________________________________________________
Comments: An ideal command for building your character's HP. Note that
the stats also goes up but make the battle more difficult.
The HP also increases. Good when use in conjuction with
Absorb.
2.1.17 Eat
______________________________________________________________________

G.Fs : Eden
Functions : A rare move. Sorry about the misleading information.
Not all the time that this move will cause bonuses
such HP. Sometimes it results to some status
ailments. After all it is still a good attack, but
has a crappy rate. It is an INSTANT DEATH KILLING
MOVE. You view some scenes similar to the opening
FMV. [just pictures of grasslands and seasides.]
AP needed : n/a
_____________________________________________________________________
Comments: Unstable, yet sometimes bring in profits. It has a crappy
hit rate, so it does not work most of the time [result a
waste of time]. It reaps in as it does an INSTANT death
attack. Thanks to Steven Bruck for the corrections. I have
received status ailments if this command is used on the
Haurizaado [grey-red crawlers]

2.2 Junction Abilities (J)
========================================================================
This system is very hard to explain in a few words, but it's worth it.
This system works like FF7 elemental's combo, for example, Fire Materia
linked to an Elemental in Cloud's weapon is the same as junctioning
Fire magic to the character's Attributes Defense.
CHARACTER'S STATS JUNCTION
Junctioning magic to HP, Magic, Body Strength, Magic Strength, Spirit,
Dexrity, Vitality and Evasion allows the stats to raise and this
depends on the following cases:
1. Power of the spell : Fire 3 will work much better to Fire 2
2. Number of spells : 24x of Fire will work much better to 10x of
Fire magic.
CHARACTER'S ATTRIBUTES ATTACK /DEFENSE
Junctioning magic to attribute attack will causes the character to do
more damage to the elemental that you have specified. For example,
junctioning Fire magic to Zell's attribute attack, will cause Zell to
do more damage to fire-based monsters such as Bombs. Junction Fire
magic to Zell's attributes defense, will raises Zell's defense against
Fire. There are intermediate levels of attributes defense such as x2
and x4. If you have 100 kinds of that spell, you will be able to
nullify the spell. Ultima is a great option for this. Attributes
attack sometimes may causes more trouble than help.
CHARACTER'S STATUS ATTACK /DEFENSE
Junctioning a status elemental magic to Status Attack such as Poison
will causes the character to causes the status elemental as he /she
attacks. For example, if you junction Poison magic to Quistis' Status
Attack, she will cause Poison elemental to her enemies. Junctioning
Poison magic to Quistis' Status Defense will cause Quistis to be immune
against Poison. There are intermediate levels of status defense such
as x2 and x4. There is a item that prevent all status ailments [it is
called the Ribbon, it can be obtained through the Pocketstation]
THE USAGE OF JUNCTIONS

| Magic Strength J | Affects the amount of damage that your |
| | character will inflicit when using magic. |
|---------------------|------------------------------------------------|
| Spirit J | Affects the defensive power of your character |
| | against magical attacks. |
|---------------------|------------------------------------------------|
| Dexrity J | Affects the speed of the charatcer's ATB bar. |

| Evasion J | Affects the rate that your character could |
| | dodge from a physical-type based attack. |

2.3 Guardian Forces Abilities
========================================================================
Guardians too also benefits fromm bonus such as their maximum abilities
such as HP +20%. This abilities will automatically take effect the
moment that they had accquired it. Aid is probably the best G.F ability
in the game.
G.F. Summon Magic
------------------------------0
Allows the G.F. to inflicit more damage when being summoned. [G.Fs
like the Carbunkle, Cerebrus and Sabotendar does have this as they are
either support G.Fs or special types.] This ability works well as it
increases the damage. Acquired this as soon as you have gotten Aid.
G.F. HP
------------------------------0
Allows the G.F to have more HP. This works like this. As you summoned
a G.F, the stats of the G.F. will covered up the character's HP. They
will receive damage at this moment of time, so it is a good idea to
have more HP.
G.F. Aid
------------------------------0
A special G.F. ability, which allows you to boast up the power of the
G.F. Just simply after you have seen the name of the summon [a status
box appears at the top screen]. Press and hold Select, next you will
see a Square symbol at the right hand corner [similar to the controls
of your Playstation controller]. Just tap Square repeatedly to boast
up the numbers [the higher numbers, the more damage tha the G.F will
inflicit]. Refer to G.F. Aid section for more details.
