Players Guide to "Ranma 1/2: Hard Battle"

"Ranma 1/2: Hard Battle" is a nicely done `street fighter' style
game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System based on the
Ranma 1/2 anime series which is based on the manga by Rumiko
Takahashi. If you like the game, I highly recommend reading the
manga and watching the anime. If you found the characters in
this game confusing, I highly recommend reading the manga and
watching the anime.
The game uses thirteen different characters: Ranma-kun and
Ranma-chan, Akane, Shampoo, Mousse, Ukkyo, Genma, Gosunkugi, the
Gambling King, Ryoga, Pantyhose, Pantyhose (transformed), and
Happousai.
Only the first ten are available in One Player mode and only the
first twelve are available in Two Player or Team mode.
In One Player mode, during the "VS" screen, quickly press the
RIGHT button (on the top of the controller), X, and A to access
the Debug Menu. From here, you can change many of the
statistics including which character is being used by each
player. This is the only way to use Happousai.
A note on using Happousai: Happousai was not designed as a
normal character and, as a result, there are no intermission
messages for him. After losing a battle, you may get a blank
screen. Simply press START and it will continue to the
"Continue?" screen.

Attack buttons will be named as "Weak" & "Strong" instead
of Y & B in case you've reconfigured your pad.

Notes on names: Most of the moves are written here the same as
printed in the manual for "Ranma 1/2: Hard Battle". Some
exceptions, usually special attacks like Ranma's "Tenshin
amaguriken" are written in the original Japanese with a
translation in parentheses. All of Happousai's moves are names
I made up except the "Happou daikarin" which is a standard
Happosai technique and the "Jingoro Technique" which was listed
in Geoffrey "Jingoro" Hartung's "Anime Martial Arts Dictionary".
All character names are printed here the same as spelled in the
manual with the exception of Happousai whose name does not
appear in the manual.
