In the second episode Ana finds herself on Metis Colony, an Outcast colony friendly to her cause. There she meets up with an old friend/mentor. But her previous actions have brought trouble with her to Metis.

Bale receives a new assignment from high in the Founder government, an assignment which forces him to return to a life he thought was behind him. Meanwhile Ana's ship, adrift in space, comes under attack by a mysterious third party.

After escaping from battle at the mine, Ana works to restore Alex's program. Faced with the possibility of losing him, she must choose her next course of action carefully, but she is not the only one who must complete their mission. Also, part of her past is revealed.
