This is a one-level trial version of "Royal Edoma Engine", a cute "massive barrage" style shooter. The Japanese pioneered what I call the "massive barrage" style of shooter in which you have to dodge not merely a dozen or two of shots, but literally hundreds of shots. "Royal Edoma Engine" is a beautiful version of this kind of shooter.

The story, in brief is this: sushi has been outlawed and an underground society is keeping the practice alive for the common man. A young girl with extraordinary power has been asked to stop the insect hordes sent by the emperor to put a halt to the underground society.

There is a manual.htm file in the installation folder that explains the controls, but it is in Japanese. However, the game itself is in English where it counts. Use a gamepad controller or keyboard (arrow keys for direction, 'Z' key for fire). Object: shoot everything and collect the sushi that appears. You have a life bar that is reduced each time you get hit and you have a power bar that, when maximized, allows you to kill everything on the screen at once.

And before you ask me, no, I do not know where you can obtain the full version.
